Ok, so hear me out.. Banana Handle.

I think we all know and love the design of the Playdate at this point. It's a wonderful Tiny Yellow Machine! with a Crank!

For some folks it's a bit TOO Tiny. I'm super jazzed that it fits in my pocket, but when I need a long session wandering the gallery, or cranking through some Zombies - I tend to get a little cramped. I've had this model in development for a while and am finally ready to release the ART7 Banana Grip! 

For all owners of ART7, this is an STL file you can download and 3D print. I suggest rotating it 90 degrees so that the tray is vertical. The tolerances for the Playdate tray are pretty tight, so I  suggest printing on an FDM machine or if SLA, compensating for shrinkage as it cures. 

The Grip is designed to be ergonomic for the left hand while leaving the right free to crank. There's clearance at the bottom for the speaker and charging cable and a hole to attach a chord of some sort for added security (I use it when showing ART7 publically, so a device doesn't wander off). 

Now, This is Important! 

The tray's tightness is, in fact, HOW the Playdate stays IN the tray. It will fit snugly on its own but I use a 2mm sticky silicon pad on the top right corner of the tray to provide enough pressure to keep it secure while playing. I've used it this way for months, but you're welcome to modify or add to the design as you see fit. Please do not sell the design as the tray, in particular, was designed by a good friend of mine and I'll be compensating him separately for its use. 

The Banana Grip is exclusive to ART7 owners, but I have a separate Controller Grip of a similar design, that will be released free to the public. Try that one too! 

CONCEPT

This whole concept was inspired by 1: Andy Warhol's Banana, 1967 and 2: the Wall Banana In fact, my partner painted me one.. but it was on the large size.
